- How often should I seal my concrete driveway or patio?
- Most residential concrete in Southern Ontario should be re-sealed every 2 to 3 years. Stamped concrete and exposed aggregate exposed to road salt or pool chemicals may benefit from re-sealing every 2 years; broom-finish driveways usually go 3 years between coats.
- When is the best time of year to seal concrete in Ontario?
- Late spring through early fall — typically May to mid-October — when daytime temperatures are between 10 °C and 30 °C, the surface is dry, and no rain is forecast for at least 24 hours. Sealing too early in spring or too late in fall can trap moisture and cause whitening (blushing).
- Do I need to clean the concrete before sealing?
- Yes. We always pressure wash and (when needed) acid-etch or degrease the surface before applying sealer. Sealing over dirt, oil, or efflorescence locks contaminants in and shortens the life of the coating dramatically. Cleaning is included with every sealing job we quote.
- What's the difference between a wet-look and matte sealer?
- Wet-look (high-gloss) acrylic sealers darken the concrete, enhance color, and pop the pattern on stamped or exposed aggregate surfaces. Matte and satin sealers protect just as well but keep a more natural, low-sheen appearance — usually preferred on broom-finish driveways and walkways.
- How long does sealer take to dry before I can walk or drive on it?
- Foot traffic is usually safe after 4–6 hours, and vehicle traffic after 24–48 hours depending on temperature and humidity. We'll give you a clear timeline before we leave the job.
- Will sealing fix cracks or spalling concrete?
- Sealer prevents future damage but it isn't a structural repair. We can fill hairline cracks and small chips as part of the prep, but heavily spalled, heaved, or settled concrete needs repair (or replacement) before sealing makes sense. We'll tell you honestly during the quote.
- How much does concrete sealing cost?
- Most residential driveways, walkways, and patios fall between $1.50 and $4.00 per square foot depending on the surface type (broom, stamped, exposed aggregate), condition, and access. We always provide a free, fixed-price quote — no hourly surprises.
- Do you offer free quotes?
- Yes — quotes are always free and there's no obligation. Call (226) 239-0239 or send us photos through the contact form and we'll get back to you the same business day.
- What areas do you serve?
- We're based in Tillsonburg and serve Norfolk County, Oxford County, and Elgin County — including Tillsonburg, Delhi, Simcoe, Port Dover, Port Rowan, Turkey Point, Waterford, Townsend, Aylmer, St. Thomas, Norwich, Otterville, Courtland and Langton.
- Is your sealer safe for pets, kids, and pool decks?
- Yes. Once fully cured (typically 24–48 hours), our sealers are inert and safe for pets, children, and pool use. We use slip-rated additives on pool decks and any walkable surface where slipping is a concern.
- Do you guarantee your work?
- Every job comes with a workmanship guarantee. If a coated area fails prematurely due to application, we come back and fix it — full stop.
